Time runs so fast. Without knowing and realizing it, you already have spent so much time in some useless things or have been doing nothing. As parents, it is important to spend more time with your kids and watch them grow. Be with them from the time that they are still crawling and the time they are still using step stool just to grab something out of their reach. Don’t miss the time when they are doing great things in school and the time they are proud to share their achievements with you. Don’t wait for the time when they would be too busy with friends or with work  to stay on your side.

Many believe that the month of December is a month of giving. I am sure many of you even have christmas gift ideas. We would allot certain amount just to give someone something special. I was raised with this belief also until my beliefs at the moment constrained me from participating in this pagan-oriented occasion.

On another note, there are more people who really need something not just material but a present that goes beyond any material thing in this world.

Like many people, we would also visit someone you love that you have never been with for a long period of time. We would also read stories we have read from a networking site. There is a story about a wife who sent her husband to have a date with his mom. His mom was very happy at that time that she even asked her son a favor of doing it again. Sadly the husband’s mom died a few days after the said date. But her mom left him a certificate from a restaurant where they have dined with a note. The note told him about how happy she was during that time. She even paid an advance as a reservation and the food for their next date. His mother left instructions to the waiter that if she couldn’t make it,  he still could bring someone he loves such as his wife for that date.

Internet is really a big factor in giving us convenience in paying our bills through electronic payments unlike before when you had to visit every establishment just for a payment. As we all know we have electricity, water as well as telephone bills which we really have to pay for every month. Now we have the internet, cable and other services to pay. But sometimes we have to be careful about having it all online, especially if you are using credit cards or bank transfer method. You still have to ensure security protocols to avoid cyber thief.

Ten years ago, my cousin who was an Architect visited the United States of America. He was only given two months tourist visa. With his plan of working in the States he has only two months to find an employer.   According to him, job availability is not really a problem during that time because he receive more than two hundred offers from companies looking for someone like him and in the span of two weeks more than 20 companies were already willing to hire him. But after the crisis hit US, he lost his job and he is now looking for any available job for more than a year. That forced him to look for another job which is not related to his course. He has to study as caregiver to find a job. He even had a plan to study again to have Occupational Therapist Aide Jobs which pays better.

The country is regularly experiencing Around 19 – 20 tropical cyclones or storms every year and typically almost nine or more of these make a landfall. These typhoons usually incur not just damage to properties but sometimes it takes lives, too. Every year we are praying and hoping for zero casualty yet lives are still lost. We always blame the government for missing readiness in times like this but sometimes we also have to blame ourselves. As we all know some of those victims know the coming of these typhoons and yet they neglect warnings issued. Hopefully with all the lessons we can avoid memorial ornaments in the future.

My son Kyle and I love to watch funny videos on youtube. The funny thing is I almost crowded my bookmark bars with those funny video site. I am planning to download them all and compile them on cd’s so that we will have a collection of those. Since we know there’s a lot of free downloader on the web that will download youtube video and save it in any video format you want.

The country was struck by successive typhoons which caused flooding in most parts of Luzon. Blaming the different branches of the government is really unavoidable during this moment. Some are blaming those big dams that released large amounts of water during the typhoon while those blamed also blame local governments which were affected by not regulating those fish pens. That has blocked the normal flow of water from the river to the sea. Time will com when the “bahay kubo” which used to be our national house in the Philippine will not be seen anymore. It will be changed by concrete and steel buildings to fight those natural calamities that regularly visit the country.
