Although Jushua Clottey the former IBF Welterweight Champion from Accra, Ghana, fought and lost to seven-division world champion Manny Pacquiao in Dallas Cowboys Stadium last March 13, 2010, it is believed that he has brought home an estimated of US$3 million. That’s the biggest amount he received in his boxing career. Even with the criticism that he never really fought that well, he will even bring gold coins home. I am just not sure if he could find a better fight after this performance.
Yes, he disgraced the boxing profession by fighting not to win but just to survive. That’s the highest form of being a mercenary when all you care about is just to enjoy the financial bonanza of fighting with the world’s best pound for pound. I agree with you. With his dismal performance in the ring, I doubt if there will be any promoter foolish enough to promote his future fight. Filipinos will surely shun away from his future fights if he can get any.
