Worst Typhoon in the Philippines
By admin on Sep 28, 2009 in Amazing stories, Records, news Update
According to some news as of Sunday afternoon of September 27, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC)Typhoom Ondoy already recorded 73 persons dead and more than 20 missing and with more than 300,000 people affected with over 60,000 already evacuated in different centers all over Luzon.
With the President already declaring 23 provinces including National Capital Region under state of calamity status, this is considered the worst flooding in the Philippines’ capital brought about by the typhoon after 42 years.
There is flooding all over Metro Manila even in the place where it was not expected to flood. It was very hard for the government agencies to bring rescue and relief to those affected areas because some of the roads were submerged in flood waters. Communication was also a problem since some cell towers were also affected.
Hopefully the government will learn a lot of lessons from this calamity.
