I am having problem on what I will going to give my father because he wanted to have his own personal computer so that we could chat and see each other on web cam since we live far from each other. I wonder if a laptop or a desktop computer will do since he told me that he will use it also for some engineering design and computation.

For me, a desktop could be a better option but others suggested a laptop because of its ease in operation and could be carried somewhere else. But I know desktops now are fast and easy to operate. I know there are lots of advantages and disadvantages on both but I could be biased to desktops because I love to use it even though we also have laptops which we use during out of town trips.
