This coming November 29 and 30, Nurses Licensure Examinations will set a record for the most examinees to take the board exams in Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). At 88,750, examinees are the largest in PRC history.

In fact, this numbers of examinees passing rate for nursing board exam continues to go down. Nursing schools I think are not giving the exact screening for their incoming nursing students anymore as long as they could accept as many students as they want.

I am a registered nurse also and the screening process we undertook during our time was not a joke. Almost half of the students enrolled in first year are not permitted to continue and it shows. I think our batch made the record of having the most number of board topnotchers in the history of nursing.

19 of my batch mates were included in the top 20 in 1995 Nurses Licensure Exam, four in June 1995 and 15 in November 1995 which includes the Top 1,3,6,9.
