Two weeks ago, I was a witness to the thousands of “Gawad Kalinga” house recipients gathering in Bonifacio High area. It was the 5^th anniversary of GK and Friendship walk was organized and attended by thousands of GK residents, builders, workers, volunteers, and partners from the government, NGOs, religious organizations and the civil society. I really like its program because it already provided thousands of houses to those homeless people and my aunt was one of the recipients of awarded houses.

For me GK already sets a world record of providing low cost housing and shelters to those homeless in the country. Hopefully more people will be given a chance to own a home they can call their own.

Thanks to all who donated a lot from private companies to individuals and hopefully even the commercial real estate companies will set at least a part of their land for those homeless.
