Biggest Auction of Works by a Single Artist
By admin on Sep 27, 2008 in Records
This is a simple pose from a guy sitting in front of an art work wearing all black suite and simple Wayfarer sunglasses. But did you know that he is Damien Hirst, the famous multi-millionaire British artist who sets a world record by having the biggest auction or works by a single artist.
The sale of his 218 items in an auction in London for $200,753,179 ((€140,160,487) gave that record to him. The arts include pickled shark, butterfly painting, that zebra and among others.
He broke the previous record of Picasso which went for a total of only $20m (£11m at 2008 prices) in 1993.
