Confident in Modern LASIK Technology
By admin on Aug 31, 2008 in Health
My wife just went through her yearly medical exam last week. She was informed by their company’s ophthalmologist that she may need to wear eyeglasses already. She told me about it, and I suddenly remember my grandfather who once told me about wearing eyeglasses. He told me not to dream of wearing eye glasses someday. It will be very inconvenient and irritating, he said. Unless really necessary, my wife still resists wearing eyeglasses.
So I suggested that she reads about the LASIK information I previously read. This is a fast and nearly painless laser eye surgery to correct vision. A lot of patients worldwide are already helped and satisfied about the results.
Now, the LASIK technology is so popular that even the NASA and U.S. military have been using this for their personnel for more than five years now and have been used by the US Department of Defense and NASA to improve the vision of specialized personnel facing extreme, physically demanding conditions. This is iLasik Procedure which uses two lasers instead of one compared to the old LASIK technology.
I am confident that if my wife decided to undergo this kind of modern technology, it will be worth it because I know “the DOD and NASA have validated the fact that today’s LASIK exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness.” I’m quoting this from Steven Schallhorn, M.D., a retired U.S. Navy captain and leader of clinical research and studies done for the DOD regarding the use of LASIK
