Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco, Filipino boxer from the Philippines competed in the Men’s 48 kg (light-flyweight) category at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and took home the silver medal, the Philippines’ only medal of the games.
But during the Olympics and about to fight for gold, but unlikely have a controversial lost to his opponent, Onyok were promised by a lots of politicians better compensation and money because of his achievement in the putting the Philippines in the list of medalists in the Olympics. But it looks like his promises received remained mere words. He felt used by a lots of politicians.
Until now, Onyok could even ask the help of debt collection agencies that will be responsible for the collections, because until now he still hoping to receive the amount that politicians promised to him.
