Bar Codes

I remember when I was still a kid, my aunt would always send us packages containing can goods, shirts, toys among others. I noticed some coded lines at the price tags and from the can of goods. That gives a sign back then that if certain goods would have a bar code, they are imported goods from the United States because bar code technology was not yet a trend in this country.
Until such time I that I was able to see the ncr point of sale only during my high school years. That made me understand the real purpose of product bar codes. When we are buying something in a department store every product we have selected are to be scanned by bar code scanner for faster service.
I remember when I was able to visit my aunt’s grocery store, she’d still manually enter product prices one by one to have the total amount. This is time consuming and risky to make mistake in totaling the amount purchased by the shopper.
Technology really makes people’s jobs easier, The availability of a handheld barcode scanner is very useful especially for those products which are and cannot be carried like big boxes for the auditing of supplies. With this NCR point of sale, it’s faster and more convenient service thus speeding up the work process.
