Yesterday July 9, 2008 another world record was set in Elizabeth, Illinois, USA. Do you know what it is? The largest gathering of women with Elizabeth in any part of their name. About 400 hundred women from more than 20 states carrying their birth certificate with them gathered in Northern Illinois community of Elizabeth.

The event was designed to celebrate the community and honor famous Elizabeths, including one of the women for whom the community of about 700 people was named.

Susan Gordy, who helped organize the event said they invited Queen Elizabeth II, but she politely declined. Elizabeth Taylor was also invited but did not reply according to her.
