48 Philanthropists of Asia

The year 2007 has been a good business year in almost all regions in Asia, causing Asian businessmen to share their blessings and turn into philanthropy. It’s the first time Forbes Magazine has their list of 4 philanthropists in every 12 countries. Forbes identify not only the largest donors but also some of the most interesting and generous people who are not necessarily  rich but rather they are someone who is willing to share it to those in need.

Li Ka-shing from Hong Kong has pledged to give one-third of his $32 billion fortune to charity. Anil Agarwal of India committed $1 billion in  creating a new university in India. China Biggest giver and China’s richest persons Yang Huiyan, and her father, Yeung Kwok Keung, shared their $32 million to charities last year.
Wee Lin is worth only $3.5 million; not as rich as the people mentioned earlier but this person opened a home for the mentally ill in Singapore and donated items in North Korea. People donating or sharing their own money not their company assets to charities to get credits.
Hope others will be inspired to help through these philanthropists and their achievements so that we’ll be more encouraged to give more..
