My First Camera
By suplado on Jan 25, 2008 in Photography
I started my photography hobby in a late 90’s when I met Erwin, a photography enthusiast who works as assistant manager of a popular bank. We became friends and he introduced me to the world of photography. I was amazed by his Canon 300 film Automatic SLR camera. Because I wanted to learn more about photography I‘d always ask him how to start. Then he shared it with me but I had to buy my own camera.
Then I met another friend Bogie, an ID and events photographer who, at that time, has been using some old manual camera. He knew someone selling his Old 1978 Canon Ae1, the first 35mm SLR camera to be controlled solely via a built-in Central Processing Unit (CPU) and made SLR photography available to beginners and amateurs at a reasonable prices. The company has a record of over 5 million units been sold worldwide, the success of which firmly established Canon as the leader in camera innovations.
I bought my Ae1 for only P1500. As a beginner you must learn it with the manual Camera like Ae1 and you master using manual SLR camera you can handle with what ever camera you will have, learn and understand first the very basic of camera. Parts like lenses, body, flash, and also the shutter speed Iamp not an expert one but I have known it manually through books, friends and actual shooting. Then I learned from that time on that you must have your film developed and printed. Imagine how much is about to be spent. More money on film and developing. I remember before in 36 shots of film, I only got 6-10 good shots :-) It helps to try and win friends in photography. Be a member of a camera club. They share tips and also you will know people that can give you discount when buying films, developing and buying other camera accessories.
