Luckily today, we can capture a lot of memories because of photos and videos used widely today. Today’s gadgets are affordable, easy to use and handy. Even cell phone now can take great quality photos and high definition videos. But it is better to have those memories saved not just in your computer hard drives but also to save it in some USBs, CDs or DVDs. Then just have dvd duplication for all of these. Treasured moments might also be forgotten if not being taken cared of.

The gold mine in Compostela Valley in Mindanao killed 36 people and a number of people are still missing because of landslide that happened in the area a couple of months ago. Just last week, there were also reports of killing and causing of injuries in some mining areas in Camarines Norte. Hopefully government and especially the local government in these area would really enforce strict and proper guidelines pertaining to this kind of activity. This is the first long weekend of the year for most of us. January 23, 2012 was declared a national holiday. Many of us go out of town although some are just staying home. It is my dream also to have RV that the family could use during times like this and the family is out of town. The problem is that no RV provisions are available here in the country. No large roads, parking spaces and no rv repair are currently available.  Even without that, there are still lots of fun here in the Philippines.

In the absence of broadband sticks and 3G laptops before, I choose a cell phone that I could to be partnered with my laptop. Until a year after,  sticks and 3G laptops were launched. Now with the availability of tablets and smart phones, you can have it all in your palm of your hand. Adding to that, the launched of iphone 4S is believed to be like having your own personal secretary anywhere you go.

Since we are not celebrating this holiday season, we can’t avoid but also to prepare some gifts especially for our son’s friends and neighbors as we also received gifts from them. I find it funny that we also received unexpected gifts from my son’s friends and neighbors. My son even received some expensive toys and revell model cars. This is truly a gift giving season.

I am just busy studying about Howard Medical hospital cart that are used in the hospitals right now when I heard the news about the storm. To tell you frankly, I was not aware that the storm that hit Mindanao and Visayas two days ago would be considered the world ‘s deadliest.As we all know, storms this year alone left hundreds of deaths in some of the countries like Brazil where 902 people died while 657 people also died during the massive floods in Thailand. But now Tropical storm “Sendong” is the deadliest of them all leaving our country 957 dead and still more people are considered missing. National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Director Benito Ramos also said they have lost count of the number of people who have gone to search for missing people following the flashfloods.

With the thousands of families affected and injured, hopefully the government will be prepared in situations like this and also some medical institutions are available to take good care or to render medical help to the victims.

I am sure many of you have experienced coming to school or office late especially around the months of December to February because we know  how nice it really is to sleep during the cold season. It is really cold in the morning and even with the sunrise, things seem still gloomy and dark. That has made us stay late in our custom mattress or bed. My son even asked me one early morning why I was trying to wake him up for school as he thought it is still night. But those who came late for the whole year cannot blame the weather but rather their prolonged habit.
